The Annual General Meeting, to be held on October 25th, 2026, at 1:00 pm, is the opportunity for the Haliburton Curling Club members to elect their Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 curling season.

• Nine board positions are open.
• Members may be nominated or may nominate themselves for Board positions during the nomination period which runs from 12:01 am on October 2 to October 16, 2026 at 11:59.
• Any members nominated during this period will stand for election at the AGM. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor.
• The position of president is elected directly.
• The 8 individuals who receive the most votes at the AGM will be elected to the Board.
• At the first meeting of the board following the AGM, the Board will determine the position to be held by each Board member. Consideration will be given to the nominees declared preferred position.

Director of Curler Development	Coordinates programs to improve curling capabilities of all members, including youth, new and experienced curlers, as well as supporting the development of club coaches.	Oct 2026 – Oct 2028
Director of Events	Provides leadership and oversight to ensure all teams organizing special events (Home Show, bonspiels, social) at the club have the support required	Oct 2026 – Oct 2027
Director of Facilities & Ice	Has overall responsibility for the physical facilities including maintenance of premises, management of ice team and contractors	Oct 2026 – Oct 2028
Director of House	Has overall responsibility for the ensuring the kitchen, bar, and lounge facilities meet the needs of the club, manages rental service.	Oct 2026 – Oct 2028
Director of Communications	Manages communications so HCC’s messages can reach members and public through multiple channels	Oct 2026 – Oct 2028
Director of IT	Has overall management of various systems used in HCC’s operations, ensures compliance with data privacy and security regulations	Oct 2026 – Oct 2028

Our county is large and weather conditions vary by area. We do our best to make a decision to play or not that will apply to as many people as possible. If bad weather is expected, please check here or on Facebook by 7am for day leagues and by 4pm for evening leagues, for possible cancellations. Daytime cancellations don't necessarily affect evening play, and vice versa.
